Attorney Richard Wagenheim, of counsel

Richard Wagenheim is a partner in the Fort Lauderdale law firm, Wagenheim & Wagner, P.A., and is of counsel to the firm of Haliczer, Pettis & Schwamm. P.A. He has been designated by the Florida Bar as a Board Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation law since 1989.*

Mr. Wagenheim received a Bachelors degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan in 1968, and graduated from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University in 1972. He is admitted to the Florida Bar (1973) and is also licensed to practice in Michigan, Washington, D.0 and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern District of Florida and Eastern District of Michigan.

He specializes in workers' compensation and sports law representing injured workers including professional athletes. He is a member of the Workers' Compensation Panels for the National Football League Players' Association (NFLPA), Professional Hockey Players' Association (PHPA), and National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA), and also provides representation to professional baseball players on behalf of the Major League Baseball Players' Association.

Mr. Wagenheim has been honored as Attorney of the Year by both the NFLPA & PHPA Workers' Compensation panels. In 2008, he also was the recipient of the Broward County Bar Association's Executive Director's Award in recognition of outstanding contributions to the legal community.

Mr. Wagenheim's currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Sports Lawyers' Association. He is a member of the Florida Bar Workers' Compensation Section, and is past Chair and current board member of the Workers' Compensation Section of the Broward County Bar Association. He served previously on the boards of Florida Workers' Advocates and the Urban League of Broward County and has lobbied during legislative sessions on behalf of the rights of injured workers.

He is also a frequent lecturer on workers' compensation topics. He has lectured at the Florida Workers' Compensation Educational Conference, the Sports Lawyers' Association Annual Conference, Continuing Legal Education seminars, and at the University of Miami and Nova Southeastern University Law Schools.
